Periodontal disease occurs in two forms: gingivitis and periodontitis. Gingivitis is a reversible inflammation of the gingival. Periodontitis involves deeper inflammation with loss of tooth support and permanent damage.

Bay Animal Hospital has been part of the Manhattan Beach community for over 28 years while providing health care to over 235,000 pets.
Our veterinary practice consists of 5 full-time veterinarians who are supported by 28 employees (Receptionists, Technicians, Technician Assistants, Kennel Attendants) and hospital volunteers. Our entire staff is dedicated to providing an excellent veterinary visit for both you and your pets.
In an effort to accommodate your busy lifestyle, Bay Animal Hospital is open seven days a week, with extended hours Monday through Thursday. Our hours of operation are Monday –Thursday 7:30-9:00 pm, Friday 7:30-6:00 pm, Saturday 7:30-2:00 pm, and on Sunday 9:00 am – Noon.
We are located at 1801 N. Sepulveda Blvd, Manhattan Beach, in-between Manhattan Beach Blvd. and Marine Avenue. We have two parking lots; one is located behind our building and we lease the seven parking spaces across from the hospital’s driveway at Hawthorn Suites Hotel. We have an elevator to assist our physically challenged dogs and clients. If you require any assistance bringing your pet inside simply buzz us from downstairs with the intercom or call us from your cell phone and a hospital staff member will meet you at your car to assist you.
We are a well equipped practice with the latest in diagnostic technology, including a state-of-the-art in-house laboratory for accurate and quick blood work results, a full service outside commercial laboratory, high-tech digital radiography (x-rays), ultrasound, video endoscopy, a fully equipped surgery suite, and an ultra-modern dental machine capable of cleaning your pet’s teeth just like your dentist does!
To make an appointment with one of our veterinarians call us at 310-545-6596. Our doctor's visits are $55.00 and for a new client's first visit they are $46.00. If your pet is due for vaccinations you can receive 50% off those vaccinations with a paid doctor’s exam.
